Our programs
Three programs, one small home setting — so siblings stay together and every child moves up without ever losing a familiar face.
6 months – 2 years
Gentle, responsive care built around your baby's own rhythm. Naps, feeding and diapering follow the routine you already use at home, with a daily written update so you never wonder how the day went.
3 – 5 years
Play-based early learning that quietly builds kindergarten readiness — letters, numbers, storytelling and lots of art, alongside the social skills of sharing, waiting and problem-solving.
School age
A calm landing place at both ends of the school day: breakfast and a safe start in the morning, homework support, snack and free play in the afternoon, with local school drop-off and pick-up.
About Little Ocean
Little Ocean Childcare started the way most home daycares do — with a parent who couldn't find the kind of care she wanted for her own child. Not a big room with rotating staff, but a calm home where someone notices when a toddler is teething, remembers which blanket helps at nap, and greets each family by name at the door.
Our home in Port Coquitlam was set up for exactly this: a childproofed playroom, a reading corner, an art table that's allowed to get messy, and a fenced yard for the part of the day that belongs outside. Days follow a predictable rhythm — arrival and free play, circle and learning time, outdoor play, lunch, rest, then art or sensory play before pick-up.
As a licensed family child care led by an ECE-credentialed educator, we keep the serious parts serious: licensing standards, first aid, allergy-aware meals, and clear daily communication with you. The rest of the day is just childhood.
Our space
Little Ocean Childcare is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Before & after school care follows the local school calendar. We are closed on statutory holidays.
Yes. We operate as a licensed family child care in Port Coquitlam, BC, and follow the health, safety, ratio and record-keeping standards required by licensing, with a current first aid certification on site.
As a licensed family child care, our group stays small and mixed-age, which keeps supervision close and lets each child get real one-on-one attention throughout the day.
Start with a tour — you'll see the space, meet the educator and ask anything. If it feels right, we hold your spot with a registration form and deposit, then arrange a short gradual-entry visit before the first full day.
Families come to us from across Port Coquitlam, as well as neighbouring Coquitlam and Pitt Meadows.
